Jim Osborne
Jim Osborne is a freelance journalist, outdoors enthusiast, and former business executive and business owner. He was a vice president for Bell Canada before starting his own business in 1993, counseling private and publicly-traded companies on strategic and operational planning, investor relations and corporate finance. His written works have been published in magazines, newspapers, text books and in professional journals in Canada and the United States. Early years on his family's wilderness farm made him a life-long outdoors enthusiast, spiritualist and incurable handyman. At the start of his career, Osborne worked for newspapers and broadcasters, and as a senior editor for The Canadian Press. He has also taught journalism, communications planning and public relations, and helped to establish journalism programs at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, AB, and the University of Regina. Osborne has also guest lectured at several post-secondary institutions and served on program advisory boards at Humber College in Toronto ON, Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB, and Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax.
